Clearfield, Inc. President and CEO Cheri Beranek
Clearfield, Inc. President and CEO Cheri Beranek is a founding member of the company. She is considered a visionary in the telecommunications networking industry, and has extensive leadership experience in the field of emerging high-tech growth companies.
In July 2003, she joined APA Enterprises as President of its subsidiary APA Cables & Networks. In June 2007, she was appointed President and CEO. Previously, Ms. Beranek served as President of Americable, for which she had previously been its Chief Operating Officer.
Throughout her career, Ms. Beranek has held a variety of leadership positions with emerging high-growth technology companies, including Transition Networks, Tricord Systems; and Digi International. She also has extensive non-profit experience including: the City of Fargo, the Metropolitan Planning Commission of Fargo/Moorhead, and North Dakota State University (NDSU).
Chief Financial Officer Bruce Blackey
In October, Bruce Blackey was installed as the firm’s fulltime Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this position, he is responsible for the company’s financial planning, general and cost accounting, budgeting, all treasury functions and risk management. Mr. Blackey has a rich background having served as CFO for Tiro Industries and senior financial management positions for Conwed Plastics, McGladrey & Pullen, Norwesco, KP Manufacturing and Bemis Company Inc.
Mr. Blackey brings a fresh outside-the-industry perspective, which has helped honed our financial vision and informs the decisions we make in the marketplace.
Chief Operating Officer Johnny Hill
Johnny Hill is a longstanding leader and one of the founding members of the company. This year he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In this new capacity, Mr. Hill oversees Clearfield’s operations including engineering, product management, procurement, marketing, and manufacturing.
Collectively, he has more than 12 years of strategic and hands-on experience in the telecommunications networking industry. He began his telecommunications career in 1996 in field sales for Americable Inc. After the company was acquired by Clearfield’s precursor, APA Cables & Networks, in 2003, Mr. Hill was named the company’s first Vice President of Sales. He would later be promoted to Vice President of Product Management and Development and, then, Vice President of Engineering and Product Management. During his career, Hill has amassed a national reputation within the telecommunications industry on fiber management. His natural business instincts will continue to significantly contribute to Clearfield’s presence and growth in the market.
