    FieldSmart Makwa FDH

    Fiber Distribution Hub for Above and Below Grade

    Like the bear for which it is named, the FieldSmart Makwa FDH can go below grade, stand up at ground level or climb a pole. And unlike most bears, Makwa is half the size of a conventional FDH.

    The FieldSmart Makwa FDH is environmentally protected, versatile, scalable, damage resistant, easily accessible and cost effective, allowing the broadband service provider the choice of where to deploy without sacrificing performance or access. Built from the ground up and inside a sealed closure, Clearfield has developed the smallest 288 port PON or 432 port Cross-Connect FDH in the industry. Enclosed in a black impact and UV resistant Thermoplastic material, the product will withstand all OSP environments, above or below grade. With a removable top cover, all of the fibers are protected and fully accessible for service changes and maintenance.

    Contray to popular belief, bears do not need much room to hibernate and neither does the Makwa. With the ability to be housed in a 24" x 36" x 36" vault or hand-hole, FieldSmart Makwa can be placed in any below grade environment incuding the boulevard or area between the curb and sidewalk. As this space is typically owned by the municipality, only a single permit is required expediting the pre-construction engineering process.

    Clearview Black incorporates the same flexibility and scalability of Clearview Classic and Clearview Blue in a 50% smaller footprint than the Clearview Blue. Reducing the overall footprint of the fiber management element reduces real-estate costs and improves density without compromising critical design elements of access, bend-radius protection, physical fiber protection and route-path diversity.

    Providing up to 24 ports of connectivity, Clearview Black scales and multiplies to meet specific port density and application needs. Clearview Black is a three component tool-less system: top cover, base/splice tray and splice tray cover. Parts snap together to support the desired application requirements. All types of fiber cable construction can be integrated within the cassette to support all patch only, patch and splice, passive optical component hardware and plug and play scenarios.

    Clearview Ribbonizing Tool

    Ribbonizing allows quicker troubleshooting and restoration of affected fibers, as 12-fibers are ribbonized only where the splicing needs to occur, providing single-circuit access as necessary. Each patch and splice cassette comes prepared for mass fusion splicing, with one meter of ribbonized 250um fiber preloaded and prepped to splice.

    Each ribbonizing tool aligns and secures the loose-tube fibers in correct color code order, allowing ribbonizing to be completed quickly and easily. Clearfield’s disposable ribbonizing tool efficiently organizes and prepares loose tube fibers to facilitate mass fusion splicing. Incorporating mass fusion splicing practices saves installation time and improves consistency and project reliability compared to performing single fiber fusion splicing.

    WaveSmart High Density Splitter

    The WaveSmart High Density (HD) Splitter is designed to work with the FieldSmart Makwa platform. Consistent with a simple yet innovative design methodology, the WaveSmart High Density (HD) Splitter offering for the FieldSmart Makwa utilizes a 75% smaller package with smaller diameter legs resulting in 70% less cable pile up than traditional packaging.

    The WaveSmart High Density Splitter uses 900um jacketed legs and offers superb fiber management. Internal fiber management and termination principles that have been field tested by Clearfield in temperature and weather extremes ranging from Alaska to Jamaica are maintained.

    Clearfield utilizes a special outdoor rated material that not only helps control thermal expansion and contraction, but goes one step further and remains flexible at extreme temperatures down to -40 degrees. By making it easier to handle, there is less chance that the fiber will be routed incorrectly or that damage will occur during this process.
