FieldSmart Small Count Delivery (SCD) 1 RU Rack-Mount Panel
Provides for a cost effective and flexible manner to provide fiber management protection in interconnect or cross-connect environments when landing a small number of fibers
The FieldSmart SCD 1RU rack-mount panel provides a cost-effective means to rack-mount up to two Clearview devices: the 12-port Clearview Cassette or the 2-port, 4-port or 6-port Clearview xPAK in a single rack unit. The product is available with a universal mounting bracket, allowing service providers to standardize on a single panel – whether it’s deployed in a 19” footprint of a data cabinet-mount or as a traditional 19” or 23” frame-mount unit. The FieldSmart SCD 1RU is intelligently designed to provide the user with superior fiber access while using craft-friendly fiber management for routing and deploying fiber even in challenging forward jumper clearance environments of data cabinets.
Suggested Application Environments
The FieldSmart SCD rack mount panel allows the service provider to deploy one or two integrated Clearview devices – the Clearview xPAK as well as the original Clearview Cassette. While the application environments are limitless, original deployments have included cellular backhaul, co-lo offices as well as small business networks.
Small count delivery of fiber doesn’t mean that density isn’t important. “In speaking with members of the MSO community we discovered an unmet need within the industry for a high level of fiber protection within a footprint that could be housed in a 19” data cabinet or hut,” says Tom Warren, MSO Market Manager for Clearfield. “When loaded with two Clearview Cassettes, the FieldSmart SCD panel provides up to 24 ports of fiber management in a single 1RU panel, with mounting brackets that enable convenient access.”
